I’m just thinking if what happens next when another player at the table bets out of turn? Any rule to consider?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Matthew Gilberg
Matthew,

When a player bets out of turn, their bet stands if nobody acts before it indeed become his turn to bet. If someone bets before it’s his turn, then he has the option to pull his bet back and continue as normal. In a tournament he will also receive a warning. Repeatedly acting out of turn can result in a penalty in a tournament.

Hello,

In a certain holdem event, me and two other players were down to the river. If I could remember it right, I need a club on the river to make a flush. River card came and of course I was hoping to have the card I wanted. Then when I saw light, I therefore called all in. Player 2 then asked how much and so I counted my chips. Player 2 suddenly said that I better have a hundred or so. Then few seconds passed and I revealed my cards, A high flush. Player 3 was upset then as he already doesn’t have the opportunity to call the all in because of what I did.

Any comments about the incident? Also, do you think I should have been eliminated from the hand as I have flipped my cards over?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Nathan Lewis
Nathan,

You are not eliminated from the hand. Player 3 has the opportunity to still call. You must act first. You cost yourself some bets, but that is all. Your hand is not dead.

Hello,

Say on the board were A 6 6 7 7. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any hope for a flush. Then two players were in the hand and several bets have appeared. Player A checked and so as player B.
Later, player A threw in his cards while player B turned over king, queen.

Now, I’m wondering should it be a split pot as player B cannot beat the board? Also, if player A can’t beat the board, is he still oblige to show his cards?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you!

Charles Keller
Charles,

If player A and player B showed their hands and both have to play the board, then it is a split pot. If player B showed his hand and player A mucked his hand, then player B is awarded the pot. In the event that both players play the board, both players must show their hold cards in order to receive their portion of the pot.
